Live from New Jersy!

So, to start out, I am no longer gluten-free. The bloodwork came back negative for Celiac.

I worked on Thanksgiving day, which was an amazing day since they catered dinner from Sirloin Stockade, and I didn't have to take any calls. Also, for Thanksgiving dinner with friends, I ended up taking some advice that left me with a rotten turkey. So we got some rotisserie chicken instead. It tasted amazing, and I didn't have to cook, LOL. Well, I did cook some pumpkin bread and biscuits and crossiants and deviled eggs, which were delicious.

For a Christmas/birthday present, Sean and I went to New Jersey and New York City to visit his mom. I am having a wonderful time. Our vacation was supposed to be over on the 20th, but because of the weather that day, our flight was canceled and rescheduled for Dec 25th. So we will be spending part of Christmas with Sean's mom, and part on an airplane.

I did have an amazing time in NYC. We saw Avenue Q, Times and Herald Square, and the Statue of Liberty. We also went to the 86th floor of the Empire State building, on a sightseeing cruise, through the American Museum of Natural History, and through the Museum of Modern Art.

The plane ride was wonderful, although from Cincinnati to Newark was terrible only because I had a migraine. I love riding the buses in NY/NJ, and the subways were also fun as well. And by fun I mean bumping into random strangers, or standing while zooming along a one tracked vehicle... The boat ride was pleasant while I was inside, but it was freaking cold outside, not to mention atop the Empire State building.

The food was amazing!! I love the pizza so much. The slices I got were twice as big as the pieces around Kansas, and the cheese tastes soo good.

Another Update

So, I am living with Sean as of right now, we are moving into an apartment that is across the hall from a few of our friends, so that ought to be fun/interesting. As far as it goes, I am doing pretty good. I still have my job at Alorica, which makes it 2 years and 4 months so far. No promotions or anything like that, I don't really want any position other than what I have now. I am on a new team again, and I have met a lot of nice people, mostly people who are newer to the Alorica team.

Sean started college classes again, and seems to be doing well in them, I am doing all I can to try to make it less stressful at home since he has work and school now, on top of having to move. I really hope it's helping at least a little...

As far as health goes, I am going to see a new doctor, I have met him once, and he has me on a Gluten Free diet to see if I may have Celiac Sprue. It is basically an allergy or an intolerance to gluten, which is found in wheat. So, as of Thursday of last week, I am on that gluten free (GF) diet. It's really not that bad, I can eat meat, dairy, vegetables, fruit, eggs, and most beverages, as long as its not beer, or malt liquor, which I don't drink anyways. Only one problem, I may be lactose and fructose intolerant (milk and certain kinds of fruit). But, sometimes the GF diet can help those two things. It may also be able to help with the migraines I get frequently, and headaches as well. So far, I have been feeling great on the diet, I've been getting normal feelings/signs from dairy, but not pain almost every day. This Thursday is when I'm going back to see if it might be, and if it is, where do I go from here to figure out definitely; or if it isn't, what else it could be.
Part of me is hoping it is, because it's been a year suffering through this, and it is a solution that, honestly, I think I can handle. Sure, I will be limited in the food I can eat, but I've always been picky, I would just have a legitimate reason to be picky. Also, if I do have Celiac, and I don't stay on the GF diet, it can increase the chance for stomach cancer. Another downside, though minor to the previous one, is that if the GF diet is working for me, I could start gaining weight due to my body being able to absorb foods that I couldn't before.
Another part of me is hoping that it's not because of the risks and the diet, but it would mean possibly more blood tests, more stool samples, and more money wasted on something they can't find a solution for. I'm still paying off the colonoscopy...

Ironically, despite the health issues/possible solution to health issues, I am feeling better than ever, I am also... happy. It feels weird to be happy. I am trying my hardest not to get down about a possible life long GF diet, but if it makes me feel the way I have been feeling in the last few days... then I may stay on the diet even if I don't have Celiac.

Goodbye crispy chicken, cocoa puffs, regular pasta, pancakes, buns on hamburgers...
Hello pain free days, amazing GF brownies, decent GF pizza, and improving on my cooking skills because I will have to make most things from scratch!

I'll update when I have more information. I may be researching into this too soon... but what is too soon when it comes to my health?

Picture of the Day

Tribute to Harry Potter and also Twilight. It wasn't until I read the first book of the Twilight series/watched Twilight that I could understand this, since the actor who plays Edward Cullen also played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Trying to blog a bit more frequently, so putting up random pictures is a start.

Life

Things are going ok, they have been pretty much the same other than the fact that I'm not having money problems and I'm a lot happier than usual, mainly due to my current boyfriend, Sean. He is living with me right now, and I am saving a lot more money and able to get more of the things I have been wanting as well. More importantly, he is a really great guy, he has a steady job, actually at the same place as me at Alorica, and we are now working an 11pm - 8am Tues - Sat schedule. It is a little different, but we usually don't take as many calls, and the people we work with on that schedule are more laid back and a lot of fun. My car is still running fine, we have had to replace two tires so far and get a few other things fixed. Also, someone ran into my car in the parking lot while Sean and I were taking calls, so they pulled me off the phone to check it out. It made a small dent in my car, and completely brutalized the left front blinker on the other guy's car. American Family Insurance sent me a check for about 300.00 for it. It was a nice surprise. All in all, everything is just... great. :)

Homemade things

- I got this from Annette -

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me!!

This offer does have some strings so please read carefully:

* I make no guarantees that you will like what I make

* What I create will be just for you

* It'll be done this year (2009)

* You have no clue what it's going to be

I may make something crafty or artsy, a pot holder, a framed photo, a magnet, a poem, book, a short video, a playdoh sculpture, a cookie, a vest knitted from cat hair or something entirely different....basically whatever strikes my fancy.

Here's the fine print:

In return, all you need to do is post this text into a note of your own and make 5 things for 5 others. What could be more fun!!!! (change the above to stuff you do) Some ideas you could do for others: (mix CD's, collage, journal, painting, bake cookies, etc...)

WOOT

Instead of getting my tags renewed (2 weeks late too, I found out), I got antique tags on my car!! I have a '73 Pontiac Catalina, which is considered antique this year!! WOOT!! That means I only have to pay taxes on it, which is around 17.00 rather than the renewal, which is like 45-55.00 a year! And yes, those are Wiccan bumper stickers: "Blessed Be" and "Witches, not just for burning"

I have already gone through the colonoscopy, and everything went fine. The doctor said that what is wrong with me is just a mild irritation in my colon, and it could go on for a few weeks or a few months. I was pretty out of it when he told me this, Jamie and Denise told me that when he said that I replied with "Great. I cant ****ing afford that." So yeah, I guess I cussed out the doctor a couple times, but I don't remember anything that happened. I also thought there was a box of pop tarts in my hand, and asked "Is that cake for me?" even though there wasn't any cake around. Also, I kept asking to go bowling and then to karaoke. All of this told to me by Jamie and Denise
